The results of our first-ever CareHood caregiving survey

We’re in the middle of building CareHood and we wanted to better understand the needs and wishes of patients, caregivers and their friends and family. We devised a caregiving survey and sent it to various groups and organizations with the promise that we would share our results with them. Many were kind enough to share our survey with their members and we’re very grateful to have received no fewer than 90 responses. After much tabulating and organizing and designing, here are the results as promised:

CareHood caregiving survey

To those of you who shared or completed this caregiving survey, thank you, thank you, thank you. We would not be able to make CareHood as good as we want it to be without getting the input and feedback of the community we want to serve. This has been an incredible help to us and we appreciate it a hundredfold. We hope that you will see your needs and wishes reflected in CareHood when we open very soon.

If you are interested in demoing CareHood and seeing what we’ve built so far, I would be happy to walk you through it. You can schedule a call with me at

Marni Mandell is the CEO and Co-Founder of CareHood. The idea for CareHood was developed out of the challenges she encountered offering care and support for friends who were too far away for her to help when they were in treatment with serious illnesses and other physical challenges.

I was part of your survey. Thanks to being on chemo for the past year I pretty much have no memory of any answers I gave. I think what you are putting together seems pretty terrific. I belong to the Ovarian Cancer Women on FB and it is a real life saver. Plus I have a great group of friends and family and most of them are on FB….I have been open with them with my cancer ‘journey’.

    Hi Julie,
Thank for taking the time to taking the survey – your help is extremely valuable to us! And we know the Ovarian Cancer Women group on Facebook and it is an amazing resource! It is great to see how supportive and responsive women are and we hope we’ll contribute to the discussion effectively.
